Panjumbie

Welcome to the Panjumbie.com Photo Gallery
The Presidio is a former Army base in San Francisco with a very long history. Its roots go back to when the Spanish and Mexicans ruled California.

It is now a National Park and part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. This is one of the best examples of adaptive reuse of historical facilities I have seen. Most of the historic buildings have been renovated and rented out, in many cases to non-profits.

By chance, there was a statewide California Girl Scout jamboree there on the day I visited. There were thousands of Girl Scouts all over the park and surrounding area.

I enjoyed my day there, and could have spent more days hiking the trails and visiting more of the resources there.
