In scanning all my parent's old photos and negatives, I couldn't help but notice how much deep snow fell back in the 1940's and 1950's.

I now live on Long Island, which typically gets less snow than Boston's northern suburbs, so I'm not able to make a true comparison to current snowfall in Reading, but I've read several articles recently pointing out how much less snowfall is occurring now than in the 1900s, and suggesting that climate change is the cause.
