Back when I was in Junior High and High School, I attended a Saturday morning program they offered to young people. An hour or two every other week, with various demonstrations and discussions about scientific principles.

From time to time they would have field trips to observe geology and nature in the suburbs of Boston. I believe this was taken before or after one of those field trips.

My mother and I would take the B&M train to Boston for these sessions. After she felt I was mature enough, she let me travel there on my own. I really enjoyed that, as I was able to wander around Boston as a young teenager and see the city. I'd buy electronic parts at the origional Radio Shack on Washington Street.

An interesting sidelight, those very same sessions were attended by a young Michael Bloomburg (according to people at the Museum). Yes, that Michael Bloomburg. He has been a major donor to the Museum in recent years.
