On my first day in Rochester, NY I paid a visit to the Eastman Museum, originally the home of George Eastman of Kodak fame.
This building was built by George Eastman as his home. in the early 1900s. He lived there until his death in 1932. Some years later it was opened as a museum of the photographic and cinematic arts.
A large addition now serves that function and the original building has been restored to its appearance as he lived there.
An interesting place to visit, but its furnishings make you wonder about his ostentatious lifestyle. But he was a major philanthropist and a man of strong moral beliefs, from all that is written. Times were different then, lifestyles of the rich also.
The Argus C3 was the first 35mm camera I owned. Many cameras today are manufactured .for five years or less before a new model comes out. The C3 was manufactured for 27 years, a great first "real" camera.
